The Wenchi Municipal Assembly has held stakeholder engagement with Management, Editors, Reporters and Programme Hosts of the three Radio Stations in Wenchi. <\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss measures for closer collaboration between the Assembly and Media as a means to engender smooth and speedy development in the Municipality.<\/div>\n
This is to enable the duo create symbiotic relationship for development.<\/div>\n
The meeting also formed part of stakeholder engagements with institutions and identifiable groups as well as efforts and opportunity to familiarize himself with and reach out to all groupings.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The meeting was held with General Manager\/Manageress & Directors, Editors, Producers and Morning Show Hosts of the three Wenchi base radio stations; Royals 104.7 Fm, Ewiase 95.7 Fm and Radio West Africa 92.5.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Addressing the Media Owners and practitioners, the Municipal Chief Executive Alexander Obour Damoah expressed appreciation to the Media for their cooperation and support during his Nomination, Confirmation and Assumption of the position of Municipal Chief Executive.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
He appealed to the Owners and Managers of the FM Stations to allot airtime and space on their esteemed radio stations to highlight and sensitize the public on policies, programmes, projects and activities of the Assembly and the Central Government.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
As part of the new arrangements, there would be weekly updates and education on activities of Departments and Units of the Assembly on each of the FM Stations by the Municipal Information Officer.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
There would also be one time big platform periodically where all the FM stations would connect and run simultaneous live coverage for the MCE to speak on developmental issues, projects and achievements to enhance accountable and transparent governance under his leadership.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Managers of the FM stations expressed their preparedness and readiness to collaborate with the Assembly.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Reporters of the stations called for more attention and recognition during programmes to motivate them.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The Media expressed concern about activities of nomadic herdsmen who seasonally intrude on the farmlands of farmers in the Municipality with their cattle, causing destruction, fear and insecurity.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Again, they raise concern about Bushfire and asked the Assembly to intensify Anti-Bushfire campaign to educate the public on the need to protect lives, properties and the environment.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
