The Training programme was part of the implementation of Capacity Building Plans under DPAT – V funding arrangements.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Addressing the Assembly Members, Heads and Staff to Open the Training Workshop on behalf of the MCE, the Presiding Member James Kwasi Oduro Asare underscored the need to fully participate in the training programme to achieve the set objectives.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The objectives of the Training Workshop were amongst others; describe conflict management strategies, understand the nature of negotiation and the effectiveness of interactive bargaining over distributive negotiation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The overall aim was to enhance the knowledge and capacity of Duty Bearers to manage and minimise conflicts to ensure peace and harmony in their various communities and the positions they occupy. Absence of Conflicts enhances development and progress.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The Resource Person for the training programme Isaac Amponsah of AMS & Associate took the participants through areas such as Meaning & Types of Conflicts, Causes & Sources of Conflicts, Effective ways of managing and resolving conflicts. In Organisational Conflict, Interest, Goals and Values are main drivers of Conflict. Poorly defined goals, divergent personal values, lack of cooperation\/trust, competition for scarce resources, unclear roles\/lack of job description, illegitimate demands, criticisms, cumulative grievances are some sources of Conflicts. Organisational Conflict create alienation, apathy, indifference, tardiness, low\/non-productivity, turnover.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Trainer charged leaders to run and ensure identify the exact needs and priorities of the people they lead and identify the conflict management and resolution strategies, perhaps with different approaches to achieve the desired results.<\/div>\n
