{"id":3058,"date":"2024-08-22T04:00:45","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T04:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/?p=3058"},"modified":"2024-08-28T11:04:59","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T11:04:59","slug":"aquaya-institute-knust-held-stakeholders-engagement-on-climate-change-vulnerability-assessment-sponsored-by-usaid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/index.php\/aquaya-institute-knust-held-stakeholders-engagement-on-climate-change-vulnerability-assessment-sponsored-by-usaid\/","title":{"rendered":"EPA\/MESTI HELD STAKEHOLDERS VALIDATION WORKSHOP ON THE DEV&#8217;T OF CLIMATE CHANGE VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT &amp; ADAPTATION PLAN FOR WMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Government of Ghana through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) is coordinating Ghana&#8217;s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process.<\/p>\n<p>Sequel to the stakeholders consultative workshop organised on Wednesday, 24 March, 2024 at the Wenchi Municipal Assembly Business Business Resource Centre, this workshop is a follow-up stakeholder validation process in the development of the Assembly&#8217;s Climate Change Adaption Plan.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion focused on the impacts of climate change on the following key areas;; Agriculture, Biodiversity, Water resources, Health, and Gender (women, aged, PWD, and vulnerable persons) in the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>The session aimed to build consensus on these key indicators and strategize effective responses to these challenges. Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Forestry Department, Roads Department, NADMO, Social Welfare and Community Development Department, Physical\/Town Planning, Development Planning, Works Department, Assembly members, the Persons with Disabilities Association, Women\u2019s Group Association, Wenchi Youth Association, Religious Leaders Association, and the Wenchi Traditional Council.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Philip Antwi-Agyei led the team from EPA\/MESTI in facilitating this important engagement.
