\"\"The Wenchi Municipal Assembly has completed and commissioned a newly constructed Lockable Market Store Facility Project at the Old Station in Wenchi.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Project located at the heart thus Central Business District of Wenchi is a 2-Storey Block with 28-Units on each floor totaling 56-Unit Lockable Stores for Business Operators and traders. The Project was part of the Assembly’s Local Economic Development (LED) policy initiatives to create and expand economic frontiers of the Area and open more opportunities for more traders. The Project has been widely lauded as it came to ease congestion and replaced sub-standard temporary enervated structures earlier occupying the space.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The idea of the Project was conceived and presented by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon Alexander Obour Damoah to the General Assembly of the Municipal Assembly at one of its ordinary statutory meetings which was discussed and unanimously agreed for implementation. Subsequently, the Assembly held series of Stakeholder Engagements leading to the construction of the Project as completed. The Ground Floor of the Facility consisting 28-Unit Stores was funded with District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT-5) funds and the Top Floor equally 28-Units was funded with the Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Addressing Chiefs, Queen Mothers, Traders, Stakeholders and people in a Durbar to open and handover the Facility to the beneficiary traders for use, the MCE entreated the beneficiary Occupants to ensure good care and maintenance to guarantee value for money.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Regional Minister Hon Justina Owusu Banahene  who was the Special Guest of Honour charged traders to desist and stay away from dealing and selling inferior goods. She lauded the Assembly being supported by the Traditional Council and Stakeholders for the initiative to enhance the economic opportunities of the area.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Ankobeahene Nana Amofa Damoah Ko-Asare who chaired the occasion and led Chiefs and Queen Mothers of the Traditional Council on behalf of the Paramount Chief (Wenchimanhene) pledged their support for development.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In a tour of the Facility, traders had already begun business operations in the Stores. In an interaction, the traders expressed comfort in pleasure and appreciation for the Project.<\/div>\n
