\"\"Government Appointed Assembly Members of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly appointed by the President of the Republic His Excellency John Dramani Mahama through the Minister of Local Government Chieftaincy & Religious Affairs (MLGCRA).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Government Appointees were sworn in by the High Court Judge Wenchi Her Ladyship Justice Mariam Sinare and assisted by the Supervising High Court Judge Sunyani Justice Matey Teye Gabriel. The Special Meeting of the General Assembly was presided over by the Municipal Coordinating Director and Secretary\/Clerk of the General Assembly Mr Jimah Yakubu.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In all, 13 Nominees representing 30% of the President’s Government Appointees were sworn in. The nomination was in fulfillment of the Local Government Act 2016 (Act 936). The President appoints these members in consultation with Stakeholders within the Municipality. The Appointed Members should not exceed 30% of the total membership of the Assembly as established by Law. The Nominees adds up to the already existing 29 elected Members Assembly totaling 42 including the Member of Parliament as by Law established.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
