{"id":951,"date":"2020-10-03T09:47:57","date_gmt":"2020-10-03T09:47:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/?p=951"},"modified":"2020-10-16T16:14:01","modified_gmt":"2020-10-16T16:14:01","slug":"wenchi-nbssi-bac-sensitizes-entrepreneurs-on-mastercard-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/index.php\/wenchi-nbssi-bac-sensitizes-entrepreneurs-on-mastercard-project\/","title":{"rendered":"WENCHI NBSSI\/BAC SENSITIZES ENTREPRENEURS ON MASTERCARD PROJECT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Entrepreneurs and start-ups have been sensitized on another newly introduced business and entrepreneurship support initiative called the NBSSI\/Mastercard Resilience &amp; Recovery Project.<\/p>\n<p>The NBSSI\/Mastercard programme is targeted at Micro Small &amp; Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which were highly hit and disparagingly affected by the novel Coronavirus pandemic, leading to business, employee lay-offs, loss of capital, expenditure increase, close-downs, downturns and other forms of economic losses.<\/p>\n<p>The support scheme is a collaborative initiative of a United Kingdom based organization Mastercard Foundation and the government of Ghana which is being spearheaded by the National Board for Small Scale Industries\/Business Advisory Centre (NBSSI\/BAC).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-957\" src=\"https:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NBSSIG2-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NBSSIG2-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NBSSIG2-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NBSSIG2.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The one day sensitization workshop which was facilitated by the Wenchi NBSSI\/BAC Head Evelyn Yangnuu enlightened participants on the operations of the Mastercard Resilience Programme, the eligibility criteria, application requirements, categories\/types of businesses that can apply as well as their limitations. As part of the criteria, businesses in Sectors such as Agri &amp; Agro, Water &amp; Sanitation, Healthcare &amp; Pharmaceuticals, Garment &amp; PPE, Creative Industry, Trade &amp; Commerce, Education, Services, Food &amp; Beverages, Tourism &amp; Hospitality, Technology, are all eligible to apply. The amount a business applies depends on the its size and how much revenue it generates.
