The 40th edition of National Farmers Day in 2024 occurred on November 8, 2024. This year, the event’s date was moved from its usual observance on the first Friday of December due to the upcoming general election, scheduled for December 7. As a result, Farmers’ Day was celebrated earlier. Wenchi Municipal proudly participated in this significant event to honor our hardworking farmers, whose efforts provide a variety of quality food for our tables.
The main speaker at the event, Hon. Alexander Obour Damoah, commended all farmers in the municipality for their tireless dedication to maintaining a stable food supply throughout the year, benefiting citizens both locally and beyond our borders.
The prime sponsors of this year’s event included Hon. Boafo Kojo Frimpong, who sponsored the Overall Best Farmer with a prize of a brand new tricycle, commonly known as “Aboboyaa,” and Hon. Haruna Seidu, who sponsored the Second Best Farmer with a prize of a brand new motorbike.
