CASHEW FOR INCOME & JOBS PROJECT LAUNCHED

A project to recognize and appreciate the economic viability of Cashew in  economic crop value chain assessment has been launched in Wenchi.

The project seeks to develop and give Cashew an appreciable price, given its multi-purpose viability. It also aims at making the efforts and toil of cashew farmers rewarding.

It has been recognized that Cashew is one of  the largest economic crop in production that can help boost the economy of the country, apart from Cocoa.

The project Bono-Asante Atea (Cashew) was co-funded by the European Union (EU) under the theme “Cashew for income and jobs” in collaboration with five Municipal/District Assemblies namely Wenchi, Jaman North, Tain, Nkoranza and Sekyedumasi, which are known to be the Cashew zones of the country.
