In line with the strategic vision and efforts to capture the most qualified persons and larger population of indigenes to benefit from the Government Scholarship Scheme, the government has decentralized the Scheme.
The retargeting under the new arrangement would fast track the process and easy access to the Scholarship support and avoid unnecessary competition to enroll in Tertiary Educational Institutions and serve their own communities.
It is hereby announced for the information of the general public particularly, indigenes in local tertiary educational institutions, students, parents and guardians that the Wenchi Municipal Assembly invites applications for 2019/2020 scholarship from interested and suitable applicants to take advantage of the decentralization initiative for educational support. Applications should be addressed to the Secretary, Office of the Municipal Chief Executive, Wenchi. Details as provided below:
APPLICANTS SHOULD BE;
- Ghanaian and resident in Ghana
- In a local Tertiary Institution
- Have registered and enrolled to undertake the course
- Should not be in the final year of Study
CATEGORIES OF LOCAL TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS (PRIVATE and PUBLIC)
- Nurses/Teacher Training College
- Colleges of Education
- Colleges of Agriculture
- Polytechnics
- Technical Universities
- Universities
- University Colleges
- The Institution should be accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB)
