The construction and tarring project of Wenchi town roads is progressing speedily. As part of the numerous compact programmes, the project aims at giving the Wenchi Township a face-lift to befit the Municipal status as a capital city.
The project would help create access routes to various suburbs of the capital city and make all human settlements accessible and convenient for the good people of Wenchi.
Channels and drains are equally being constructed to check erosion and sanitation.
It is again aimed at opening up the geographical frontiers of the area.
The project is a Government of Ghana (GoG) project, lobbied by the Municipal Chief Executive Dr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie and the Minister for Planning/MP for Wenchi Prof George Gyan-Baffour spearheaded by the Municipal Assembly would also enhance economic and business activities of the area.
In an exclusive interview with the Information Services Department, the Contractor PMC AFRICA Construction Limited undertaking the project lead by its Chief Executive Officer popularly called Alhaji PMC noted that he was committed to doing quality work, as that has always been his hall marks.
He asked the good people of Wenchi and beyond to be patient with him for the best to ensure value for money, saying “it is better to build projects to stand the test of decades than rushing to satisfy the hasty interest of the masses with a shoddy job. He said his international accolades and track records are unquestionable, referring to the popular “Rawlings Street” in Wenchi that he constructed over 20 years ago without any damage.
Alhaji PMC who was at the project site himself supervising the technical construction engineering works, emphasized on integrity, credibility and dignity with repeated call for value for money in order not to short-change the citizenry. “I will do quality work and not bow to pressure”, he stressed.
A female Operator Comfort Nyame assured the public of durability under the technical engineering watch of Alhaji PMC.
