Management of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly has charged staff to work harder with commitment and dedication in 2022.
Addressing Heads of Department, Unit Heads and Staff of the Assembly at an end of year Staff Durbar, the Municipal Chief Executive commended the Municipal Coordinating Director Douglas N.K Annoful and staff for team work, cooperation and support that he continued to enjoy barely 2 months into office as the Municipal Chief Executive. Since assumption of office in October 2021, the Assembly was able to organize many programmes such as ExeCo Meeting, Committee meetings, Community Engagements, Familiarization tour, Projects inspection tour, General Assembly Meeting, stakeholders engagement with the Media, Traditional Council, Abattoir, Market Women & Traders, inauguration of Zonal Councils, 37th National Farmers Day celebration and many others, despite the late appointment of MM/DCEs, noting that all these programmes could not have been successfully carried out without team work.
Looking into the new year, the Chief Executive noted that a lot of programmes, developmental policies and projects would be rolled out in 2022. This, he noted would require more cooperation, discipline, hard work, sacrifice, unity of purpose, selfless service, and above all more revenue and right target setting to implement and achieve the needed results. He allayed the fear of staff from victimization and asked them to feel free to work to contribute their quota to the development of Wenchi.
The MCE, however, warned staff against partisan politics, personal parochial/selfish interest, dubious acts, unlawful gain, lackadaisical attitude to work, laziness, absenteeism and unethical behaviour that would mar the needed productivity and integrity of the Assembly. He sent a strong word of caution that those whose acts are likely to bring the name of the Assembly into disrepute would not be tolerated, spared or shielded at all, hence should advise themselves.
The Chief Executive urged staff to apprise themselves with the Code of Conduct of the Public Service. He further advised staff to be circumspect and modest in the yuletide so as to resume work well and sound.
Staff expressed their readiness to work but asked for logistics, better condition of office and residential accommodations, maintenance of office vehicles, improvement in domestic water supply, etc.
