A capacity building training workshop has been organised for staff of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly.
The capacity programme was to amongst other purposes refresh and enhance the professional capabilities of staff and equip them with the requisite knowledge and skills to discharge their assigned job duties and responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
It was also to build their capacity to enhance productivity and service excellence for client satisfaction. Again, to make them more efficient to meet and satisfy the modern trends and the growing demands of the public.
The Municipal Coordinating Director Douglas N.K Annoful who opened the workshop underscored the importance of training programme, one of was to satisfy the standard requirements of the District Assessment Performance Tool (DiPAT). He stressed the need for staff to develop themselves and satisfy the contemporary public administrative obligations in public service, especially with regard to Local Government Service. He emphasised to remind staff that the prime objective of the Assembly is to help improve the socio-economic development of the people in the area. He asked for their continous cooperation and commitment in the administration of the Assembly’s core mandates of putting the people first.


The staff were taken through Code of Conduct, Reporting System, Administrative Reports and Minutes, types of Reports and Minutes, Records & Filing, Confidential Documentation procedure, General Knowledge and standard practice in administration, etc.
The Resource Team from Royal GESTA Company Limited led by Gabriel Apodola Apanyelom who took the participants through the training programme advised staff to maintain a cordial working relationship with their counterparts and cautioned them against partisan politics, backbiting, cheap popularism, selective preferential treatment. He charged them to demonstrate professionalism and do right at all times by upholding the Code of Ethics of the Service.
