WENCHI MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY DISTRIBUTE ITEMS TO FIGHT COVID-19

The Wenchi Municipal Assembly, with support from the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and Minister for Planning Professor George Gyan-Baffour, has distributed items worth Thousands of Ghana Cedis to help prevent Coronavirus.
Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie admonished the public to adhere to hygiene principles and use the items for the intended purpose in order to achieve the set goals and objectives. The MCE noted that despite the numerous developmental projects being initiated, the Assembly has had to take further steps to over prioritize the health needs of the people in this crucial time because projects and wealth without health is meaningless. He urged households, owners of shops, stores and all commercial enterprises to provide Hand Washing Stands at their business joints to protect themselves, families and patrons. He warned against politicization of government’s efforts against COVID-19 and extended invitation to individuals and benevolent organisations willing to support.
The items include, Veronica Buckets, Liquid Soap, Hand Sanitizers and other essentials that would help maintain hygiene and healthy living to curb the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases.
In all the occasions, the items were received by the Municipal Coordinating Director Edward Abazing, on behalf of the beneficiaries and later handed over to them.
Beneficiaries include Public and  Private Health Facilities ,public/government corporations, Market/Trading Centres, Lorry Stations, GPRTU, Police Service, Immigration Service, Fire Service and public places.
