The Bono Regional Minister Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson has distributed Face Masks and alcohol based hand Sanitizers at Voter Registration Centres of the ongoing registration exercise in the Wenchi Municipality.
The distribution was done when she paid a working visit to some selected registration centres on the last day (day-6) of the first Phase.
Briefing the Regional Minister and team with the MCE, the Municipal Electoral Officer Madam Christiana Opoku noted that 7, 647 people were registered in the first phase.
The Regional Minister commended the Electoral Commission for professionalism and well outlined comprehensive plan to, not just only get eligible Ghanaian voters onto the New 2020 Voter Register but also concerned about the health of the people.


Mrs. Kumi-Richardson accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive Dr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie distributed Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) such as Nose masks and alcohol based hand sanitizers to all applicants in the queue at the Centres. The team of Officials and staff of the Electoral Commission also benefited from the package.
The Minister said she chose PPEs over any form of support package in this crucial time of the new normal against the novel Corona virus because the health of the citizenry was more paramount to the government. She advised the public to adhere to the safety protocols while urging all qualified persons to register.


The Minister and team with the MCE began the distribution exercise at the Main Municipal EC Office Registration Centre and continued to some of the centres at Tromeso and Buoku-Junction.
