A stakeholder meeting has been held between the Municipal Assembly and Management of State Transport Corporations (STC ) in the Bono Region, as part of measures to address the growing concerns and interest of the public to have multiple transport unions in the area.
The meeting discussed the possibility of reactivating STC Loading Station in Wenchi ply Wenchi-Sampa-Bontoko-Wa routes.
The Municipal Chief Executive Dr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie underscored the benefits of having competitive markets in the transport business, noting that the economic viability of the area as a key index. He assured Management of STC of security, space/land and high patronage. This, he noted falls within the framework of making Wenchi the Service Town, as an agenda being pursued since assuming Office.
The Board Chairman for the Local Government Service, Nana Rex Owusu Ansah who led the STC Management indicated the efforts of the Company to expand its horizon to cover many areas and routes with Wenchi being another strategic area for consideration.
