Over dozens of markets and public places in the Wenchi Municipality have been disinfected in the second phase of the National Disinfection Exercise, after the first phase in March this year.
This is part of efforts to fight the novel coronavirus and other related diseases. Public places like toilet facilities, lorry parks, stores/shops, streets, channels/drains, popular joints, amongst others, were disinfected with Chlorine chemicals. Communities within the Municipality were not left out. Equipment used to carry out the exercise were vehicle spraying machine known as the Boom Sprayer and Solo machines by over twenty personnel (formed into teams) of the Zoom Lion Ghana Limited which led the exercise, hand-in-hand with the Wenchi Municipal Assembly.

In an interview, the Municipal Zoom Lion Coordinator Kwabena Yeboah said the main objectives of the exercise was to control and prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and other associated diseases, especially in the public spaces where the rate and risks of spread was most likely high. He commended the public for their cooperation, noting that the exercise went well and successful as planned. He assured that the exercise would be carried out quarterly, barring any hitches.
The Coordinator added that Zoom Lion Ghana Limited would continue to provide services geared towards improving health and sanitation.
