According to the Minister, construction and redevelopment works on the said roads are expected to begin anytime from June 2025 where road construction equipment would be mobilized to site to commence work.
The Minister made the revelation when he addressed Assembly Members, Heads and Staff of the Assembly, Chiefs and Stakeholders after a successful Confirmation of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Gloria Opoku Gyamfi as well as the Election of Presiding Member (PM) Hon. Henry Ameworwor and Swearing-In of Government Appointee Assembly Members.
The disclosure came as a welcome news to people and received loud applause with shouts of joy as these major roads have deteriorated beyond patching, resulting in accidents and deaths as well as unnecessary delays in long travel hours and vehicular damages.
The road Project as disclosed, is under the President’s Special Infrastructural Projects Initiative dubbed “The Big PUSH” being introduced and implemented by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. The Big Push is a National Infrastructure Development Programme as a blueprint of President Mahama to continue his legacy of massive infrastructure development to boost growth and create sustainable jobs. One of the thematic areas of the Big PUSH is to embark on an aggressive US$ 10 Billion accelerated infrastructure plan to prioritize the completion of uncompleted and abandoned government infrastructure projects across all sectors.
