NADMO EDUCATES INHABITANTS TO VACATE DILAPIDATED STRUCTURES TO AVERT DISASTER

The Wenchi Municipal Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has begun community sensitization on dilapidated structures and building with structural defects that serve as death traps being occupied by some community folks to vacate immediately.

The move was to avert looming disaster that lead to loss of lives and property. According to the Team Leader Babs Bello of the NADMO Office, the sensitization campaign and community engagements was being held in affected communities, assuring that the Organization would all it could to save lives and property. The community engagements were held with the Assembly Member, Chiefs and other Opinion Leaders to help curb any looming disaster.

The sensitization became necessary when a few days ago, a 31year old pregnant woman Ama Mary and her 2-year-old child died from collapse and trap of a dilapidated structure at Akrobi in Wenchi.
